Tax Law

Anthony Kim has been practicing law for over 28 years focusing on federal tax matters in individual, corporate, gaming, sports, music, food, and entertainment sectors.  His clients include Fortune 500 companies, corporate executives, restaurant owners, professional athletes, and other high net worth individuals.

Tony began his career as an attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, assisting revenue agents with legal issues in the government’s audit of individual and corporate taxpayers.  When audits proceeded to litigation, he represented the IRS in U.S. Tax Court.  During his career as a tax attorney with the IRS, Tony managed several field offices and over 80 attorneys in the Pacific Northwest.  For over 12 years, he served as one of the principal attorneys working exclusively with the Global High Wealth industry group, an elite division of the IRS revenue agents who investigated the most complicated individual income tax returns in the country.  In addition to his government tax experience, Tony led the tax controversy practice for Ernst & Young in its Pacific region.

For nearly 20 years, Tony was an adjunct tax professor at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California.  In addition, he worked as an adjunct college professor at St. Mary’s College where he coordinated the school’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program with local community organizations to help low-income taxpayers receive access to free tax return services from students he trained.  He received his B.A. from Amherst College, his M.B.A. from the College of William & Mary and his J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School.  Tony has been married to his Michelle for 30 years.  Michelle was the global director of HR (CRM) at Accenture until she left to become VP of Strategic Partnerships at TGR Foundation, a Tiger Woods Charity.
