Michael Gottlieb is a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and problem-solver for entrepreneurs and owner-operated small and medium-sized businesses throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. As the founder of Momentum Law Group, Michael redefines the lawyer-client relationship, working alongside business owners to help them navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and build successful businesses.
Michael’s mission is to create a uniquely positive lawyer-client relationship, helping entrepreneurs feel more confident and in control of their business matters. He does this by using his unique Psychology, Business, and then Law approach. When evaluating any entrepreneur’s question or concern, Michael first examines the psychology behind the entrepreneur’s mindset, thought process, and decisions, and how they will affect everyone involved. He then analyzes the business and legal implications, and how each alternative could positively or negatively impact the business. Only after evaluating those psychological and business conditions does the legal approach come into play, ensuring every solution is grounded in both strategy and reality.
His leadership and impact on the business community have earned him accolades and leadership positions, including:
Michael’s practice covers a broad range of legal services for businesses at every stage, including corporate and business law, employment law, commercial real estate, litigation, and estate planning. Whether he’s guiding entity formation, drafting or reviewing commercial leases, advising on worker classification, or helping structure employment agreements and incentive plans, Michael brings the same client-first philosophy to every matter.
Michael’s passion for fast cars led him to co-own Vision Motorsports, a professional car racing team. When he’s not at the racetrack, he’s traveling, spending time with family and friends, or exploring the latest in technology and timepieces. An avid reader, Michael counts the business fable, Getting Naked by Patrick Lencioni, among his favorites, a book that has reinforced his belief in building lasting client trust through vulnerability and transparency.
