Andres helps businesses navigate complex business disputes, especially those involving infringement and enforcement of company brands. He advises, litigates, and arbitrates primarily for media, blockchain, and financial services clients.
Andres is Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department, and practices in federal and state courts in New York and Florida. He has a long track record of successful results for clients in the areas of trademark infringement, contract disputes, fiduciary duties, partnership disputes, financial fraud, trade secrets and non-competition agreements, defamation, and other business disputes. He has also represented corporate directors and officers facing government and internal investigations.
Andres has significant trial and courtroom experience, having previously worked as a litigator at two large nationwide law firms and as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York City. As a prosecutor, Andres investigated and prosecuted hundreds of felony cases, taking many of these cases to trial.
With the sharp rise of blockchain projects and businesses, Andres has expanded his practice to include advising and navigating disputes concerning blockchain-related matters, including cryptocurrency, DeFi, and NFT projects.
Andres approaches business disputes from a practical perspective. This mindset was underscored after Andres left big law to start a coffee roasting company, which provided the opportunity to advise clients with the business owner’s perspective in mind.
In 2021, Andres, a native New Yorker, decided to trade the hectic big city vibes for the eternal sunshine in vibrant South Florida. He now practices in both New York and Florida. Outside of the law, he enjoys spending time with his family and channeling his inner handyman while working through amateur home repairs. He also appreciates spending time on the water and the art of storytelling.
