Arbitration
Contract Disputes
Andres represents businesses in complex disputes and advises companies on risk management and litigation strategy before disputes arise.
A seasoned litigator with nearly two decades of experience across New York and Florida, Andres represents medium-sized businesses in high-stakes business, employment, and intellectual property matters. He brings a combination of courtroom experience and practical business perspective to every engagement, informed by experience both as outside counsel and as a business owner.
Andres’s practice focuses on three principal areas:
Business and Commercial Disputes
Andres handles a wide range of business litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, fraud claims, breaches of fiduciary duty, and other complex commercial conflicts. He represents clients in state and federal courts as well as arbitration proceedings.
Employment Litigation
Andres represents employers and employees in employment disputes, with a focus on discrimination and retaliation claims, restrictive covenant and non-compete disputes, and other workplace-related litigation.
Intellectual Property Disputes
Andres represents businesses in trademark and copyright disputes, including infringement and enforcement actions involving brands, creative assets, and other intellectual property rights.
Andres also advises clients proactively on legal and operational risk. His work includes reviewing employment policies and restrictive covenant agreements, evaluating intellectual property protections, and assessing commercial agreements to help businesses reduce litigation exposure and strengthen their legal position.
Andres began his career at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto (now part of Venable LLP) in New York City, where he focused on high-stakes patent and trademark litigation. He later served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, prosecuting a wide-range of violent felony matters through investigation, motion practice, hearings and jury trial. Andres subsequently joined BakerHostetler LLP, where he litigated complex business disputes before later founding his own specialty coffee roasting business.
That experience as a business owner informs Andres’s practical and strategic approach to litigation. He understands the operational and financial realities clients face and works to deliver legal strategies aligned with broader business objectives.
Andres practices in federal and state courts in New York and Florida and regularly represents clients in the media, technology, creator, and financial services industries.
