Ali Rawaf

Graduate Law Clerk

Ali Rawaf joined Romano Law as a graduate law clerk after initially starting as a litigation extern in 2023.

Ali is a 3L at Brooklyn Law School focusing on media and information law.  Before law school, Ali worked as an investigative journalist and producer at the CBS News program 60 Minutes, where he reported on domestic and international stories and helped produce interviews with key public figures.  Ali earned an Emmy Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award.

In law school, Ali serves as an editor for the Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment Blog and president of the American Constitution Society.  He is also a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society, and the New York Inn of Court.

Previously, Ali worked as a legal fellow at the New York Office of the State Attorney General, a judicial extern for the Honorable Stewart Aaron at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and a summer associate at a litigation firm in New York City.

Born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq Ali immigrated to the U.S. on a State Department scholarship program.  He graduated with special honors in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.

Outside of work, you can find Ali walking his dog in Central Park, taking an early-morning yoga sculpt class, or frequenting a storied jazz club.
