Tax Law

Nicholas Rosado represents clients facing difficult federal and state tax investigations.  He has resolved more than 500 cases in the United States Tax Court and taken more than 25 cases to trial.  He handles all stages of a tax controversy from examination through litigation, appeals, and collection.  Nick also advises clients who are not under examination on strategies for resolving outstanding tax issues.

Nick previously worked as a senior attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel.  He was the Fraud Coordinator for the San Francisco Chief Counsel Field Office – responsible for providing legal advice to all agents building tax fraud cases in Northern California.  Nick also worked with the IRS’ Global High Wealth unit on complex audits of high-net-worth individuals and entities.  He uses his substantial experience to guide clients through the procedural minefield that is tax practice.

Nick volunteers with a local low-income taxpayer clinic, focusing on representing low-income taxpayers in Tax Court proceedings.  In 2023, he received an Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service Award from the Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar of the Association of San Francisco for his contributions.
